The software is digitally signed. The free version is restricted to 499 pins which is enough for the evaluation of the whole package including the autorouter. However, the creation of the Gerber manufacturing files is limited to 100 pins. There are no other limitations imposed on the free and any paid version. That means there is virtually no limit on the number of schematic sheets, on the number of PCB layers, and on the board size.
Download and Run WinQcadFree.exe
This is just a small loader (~ 330 KB) that, in turn, downloads WinQcadFree.zip
(~ 8 MB), unzips it and performs the setup.
Now, you can use an existing folder for each re-installation. Everything you created will be preserved even if you modified Microcad-supplied libraries.

Once you are satisfied with the program, you can order an Unlock Code to enhance pin capacity. You do not need to download the program again if the last update of the program had been made before you downloaded it (check the dates at the bottom of the page).
